Built 1814 to commemorate Napoleon's victory at Jena. Connects the Eiffel Tower to the Trocadéro — you've already seen this one if you've done Iconic Paris.
Walk on the upstream (eastern) side for the cleanest Eiffel-Tower view — the downstream side faces away. After crossing, take the riverside path (Quai Branly) east; it's quieter than walking along the avenue.

Buy summit tickets weeks ahead — same-day usually means second-floor only. For an underrated free view, walk under the tower (no ticket required) and look straight up: the perspective is geometrically dizzying. The hourly evening sparkle lasts five minutes.

Buy summit tickets weeks ahead — same-day usually means second-floor only. Climb the stairs to the second floor (704 steps; about 30 min) — far cheaper, way fewer queues, no time pressure. Then take the summit lift from there.

Stand at the centre between the two roadways, on the lower pedestrian deck. Wait for a métro train to pass overhead — the steel girders frame the Tower exactly. Best at any season; the orientation works year-round.
