Saint-Eustache — Keith Haring chapel

The vast Gothic-Renaissance church above Les Halles holds Keith Haring's last work — the 1990 bronze triptych 'The Life of Christ'. Its side chapel was restored and reopened to visitors on 25 June 2026, properly lit for the first time.

Also here: a nearly 8,000-pipe organ and free lunchtime recitals.

Around the corner

Rue Montorgueil

Rue Montorgueil · 230 m away

The Rue Montorgueil is a street in the 1st arrondissement and 2nd arrondissement of Paris, France. Lined with restaurants, cafés, bakeries, fish stores, cheese shops, wine shops, produce stands and flower shops, the Rue Montorgueil is a place for Parisians to socialize while doing their daily shopping. At the southernmost tip of the Rue Montorgueil is Saint-Eustache Church, and Les Halles, containing the largest indoor shopping mall in central Paris; and to the north is the area known as the Grands Boulevards. While cars are not banned from the street, the priority is for pedestrians who can enjoy the cafés and shops while walking down the cobblestones.

Louvre & Les HallesThe centre of the centre

The geographic and royal heart: the Louvre, the Tuileries, the Palais-Royal arcades, and the glass belly of Les Halles. Grand and central, emptier of residents than it looks, and priced accordingly.

Best for: First-timers who want everything within a walk — and don't mind paying for the address.
