Keur Bour Guewel

A Senegalese table in the thick of Château Rouge, working the canon — thiéboudienne, yassa, mafé — at a flat dozen euros a plate. From the evening it tips toward dibi and grilled meat, and the room stays open absurdly late.

Come after 5:30pm for the dibi; daytime is rice-and-fish territory. Cash-friendly, with a terrace.

The district · 18e

Montmartre & PigalleThe butte

Sacré-Cœur and the artists' square up top; the back-streets of Abbesses and Lamarck below; Pigalle's neon and the Saint-Ouen flea market at the edge. Steep, photogenic, and busiest where the tour groups cluster.

Best for: View-chasers and night-owls who'll climb for it; pick the quieter north side.
